Support for Teen Mothers

Get Involved

Dear Friend,

At 4 PM on a Friday, Tapestry Youth Ministries receives a call requesting placement for “Tammy”, a 15 year old who has just given birth to a baby boy at Grady Hospital. Tammy is a foster care youth who has been on “runaway status” for the past year. Afraid, alone and wary about returning to another foster placement, Tammy has one request: to be placed with her child and be given the opportunity to be a parent.

At risk teen mothers can succeed in life. Young mothers in Tapestry’s programs receive housing, childcare, education, case management, parenting and independent life skills training, mentoring and coaching. Tapestry has proven that, with early intervention and a stable living environment, it is possible to place teen mothers on a path of self-sufficiency and provide the babies with services needed to promote healthy development. Since opening its doors in 1999, Tapestry has had no repeat pregnancies among the mothers in residence. The long term result of homes like Tapestry’s is breaking the cycles that have held families in poverty for generations.

There are many eligible mothers and children on waiting lists for placement in a home. Too often, young mothers have limited options except separation from their babies. Tapestry needs your financial support. Please consider making a donation today. No donation is too small.   Donations can be made on our website: www.tapestryyouth.org or a check can be mailed to our address: P.O. Box 87090, College Park, GA 30337. Your donation allows us to provide much needed services to young girls like Tammy who deserve a second chance.

Thank you so much for your support.
